Pierce County Search & Rescue 4x4 Unit is committed to Search and Rescue (SAR) as a public service.  We are one of the eight units comprising the Pierce County Search and Rescue Council. 

 The unit:

·   Conducts day and night Mobile SAR operations, sometimes during adverse weather conditions, in both urban and wilderness environments.

·   Searches for children, the elderly, vehicles, lost hunters and downed aircraft.

·   Provides off-road rough terrain transportation for SAR personnel, search dogs, supplies, equipment and radio repeater systems to remote sites for use in emergencies.

·   Is utilized in natural disasters as well as searches for lost subjects.

·   Participates in the Daffodil Parade, National Night out Against Crime and other community event.
